Anybody getting up early to watch?
I must admit that I had the biggest crush on Prince William and especially Prince Harry when I was younger since we are all about the same age. I had no idea they existed until seeing them walk behind their mother's coffin all those years ago, but they have always kind of fascinated me ever since.
I am one of those "wedding obsessed" kind of girls, but I love the pomp and circumstance of royalty.
Anyway, anybody have any thoughts on any of it?

I guess one of you guys (or girls) will have to teach me how to imbed videos. I am planning on going through some of the more advanced features and writing them up, but I don't have the time to do them all at once. Since you asked though, here is the first one HOW TO POST A YOUTUBE VIDEO. Please let me know if what I wrote isn't clear b/c it is a little hard to put into words. That was an interesting post. I didn't know a lot of that stuff about them. I will respond more fully tomorrow though b/c it is late and I have a wedding to get up for.

This is quite contradictory to the chat I had with Greyson over a month ago but things can change. He told me there was to be an international tour starting in Canada and on to the UK, France and other countries this summer 2011. Perhaps those plans got shelved again since originally it was supposed to be Spring 2011 but that was cancelled in favor of the co-headlining with Cody Simpson that I thought was a brilliant idea and predicted it would happen weeks before it was officially announced. (: Yeah, I had no idea about this before retiredone and arwelp started linking to stuff. I did know about what I thought was a one off with Miranda at the Musikfest thing b/c I had "heard" either Greyson or Miranda mention it at some point. Miranda isn't playing very many dates, but from what I have seen so far it looks like Greyson is opening all of them for her. It probably is just a hold over until big plans are made to promote the release of the album. Thanks so much for joining! Hope you can link us to any interesting info you put on your site b/c sometimes tweets get lost in the shuffle.

ooh, I might just have to snag a ticket or two to the Mass. shows! Where does it say he will be there? If you click on the "TICKETS" next to each show it should take you to the page where you can purchase tickets. I think both of the MA ones list Greyson on the ticket page.

Okay so this isnt really much of a discssion, i just wanted to wish everyone A Happy Greyson Day and to make sure everyone wishes Greyson a Happy Gresyson Day as well! ¢¾ Happy Greyson Day to you too!! Hard to believe it has been an entire year. I guess we technically have a few more weeks before the one year anniversary of when the video went viral, but today is as good a day as any to celebrate. I wonder if Ellen will say anything about the first time he was on her show in a few weeks.

At this rate, who needs management to release tour date? LOL I made a list of all the dates everybody has come up with so far and did my best to link to a tickets page (or at least one that puts people close to a page where they can buy tickets). If anybody finds anymore dates before they are officially released, post it here and I'll try and keep the list up-to-date EDIT: Found a bunch of dates by searching for Miranda's dates and checking the sites to see if Greyson was the confirmed "special guest." Most of them he was confirmed for, but the last two in Ohio and Oregon don't have him listed yet, but I bet he will be there as well. One of them says an "unannounced special guest" so I would assume that would mean Greyson. Not going to list them right now though b/c don't want to entice people to buy tickets if he isn't going to be there. Here are Miranda's dates --> www.dancingcrazytour.com/

I agree about that performance of "Empire State of Mind" at Joe's. It was fantastic as well.
That WeDay performance was the one when I said to myself "this kid is no fluke." He was pretty great on Ellen both times, but the way he handled being in front of that huge crowd all by himself was pretty remarkable to me. Plus his performance was great too.
I think it is interesting how people can have different perceptions though. My friend who is all about Bieber (yes, he is 25 as well) really didn't think much of Greyson. He thought the Paparazzi video was good, but he wasn't impressed by the WeDay performance. I also sent him that video of "Empire State of Mind" and he didn't say anything to me about that one either. However, the night Greyson was on Jimmy Fallon he DVRd it and the next morning I woke up to an e-mail "Just watched Greyson's performance from last night. That kid has IT!"

Looks like the general consensus on Twitter now is that people are going to get #GreysonDay to trend. I could be wrong, but if you search "greyson" that seems to be what is popping up. The only way we can probably get something to trend is to be uniform with it. Somebody correct me if I am wrong. This is definitely not something I know a lot about. Also, set up a separate Twitter for the Forum. I can't follow all the Greyson fans on my personal b/c it would drive me nuts, but if you want a follow back, follow --> twitter.com/TGCForum (still working on the design )

My first musical "love" was Michael Jackson when I was really little. One of my earliest memories was waiting in front of the TV for the premiere of the "Black or White" video which after looking it up on Wikipedia means it was slightly before my 6th birthday (and probably before most people on here were born). Then I saw the Beach Boys at my first concert and loved them for a brief period. Then I saw Elton John for the first (of 9 so far) time and I was obsessed w/ him for quite a while. He is still my solid #2 favorite.
My favorite of all time and probably not likely to ever change is Bruce Springsteen. Idk where my obsession w/ him comes from b/c nobody I know is a fan, but around 13/14 I got his "Greatest Hits" and then I saw him live and that was that. He is the total package IMO - good musician, great lyricist, and arguably the greatest live performer to ever step foot on a stage. Lots of people can't stand his voice, and I get that b/c I felt the same way at the start but I love it now. He has a massive, obsessive, and completely devoted fanbase which I don't think a lot of people realize. I also like that fact that he is genuinely a good guy and very down to earth.
My favorite current band is Arcade Fire. People have been saying great things about them for years, but I never really got the hype. Then suddenly about a year ago I heard "No Cars Go" for the first time and I started listening to more of their stuff. This year when they won Album of the Year at the Grammys I was over the moon b/c I don't think anybody thought they'd win. I also loved the collective reaction of "Who is Arcade Fire?" even though they are probably the most important band to come about in the past 10 years.
If anybody is interested, here is "Wake Up" (their most famous song) from Coachella last week. Look out for the light up ball thingys those are pretty cool. Also, "No Cars Go" which is probably my favorite song of theirs. Mostly b/c the ending is pretty epic.
Sorry for the long post.

Well as it stands, Greyson Chance, of course ;D But under him, I would have to say Gaga Also I love a couple songs by Adele. Haha, of course. I actually saw Lady Gaga last week for the first time. I like her music, but the theatrics are a little too over the top for me. My favorite part was when she sat at the piano and just played and sang. I especially like the new song "You and I." Especially this performance of it (starts at 2:30 if you haven't seen it): She if very talented though and I think a lot of people write her off w/o actually knowing anything about her. She also has very good taste in music and is a big Springsteen fan. Clarence Clemons who is the saxophonist in the E Street Band which is Bruce's back-up band plays on a couple of tracks on the upcoming album. Which of her new singles do you like best so far? I am just now starting to get into Adele. She doesn't "rock" enough for me to listen to extensively, but her voice is just magnificent and I really do like a lot of her songs.

Greyson Chance Summer 2011 Tour Dates (Tentative)
Click HERE for Greyson's Summer 2011 Tour DatesThat is really interesting and a great find! I know that Greyson is opening up for Miranda Cosgrove again when she headlines Musikfest which happens to be on August 7th in PA. I figured that it would be strange for this to be a one-off show. Here is a link talking about that --> www.b104.com/event_portal/view/calendar/calendar.htmlSo, it looks like he will at least be playing that date and the day before in Milwaukee as you mentioned with Big Time Rush (who I must admit I have never heard of before). --> www.wistatefair.com/mainstage/mainstage.html

So many options where I could post my response, but I chose here. ;D Excellent job on this one. I never attempted to do lyric videos with either "Past" or "Within the Lights" b/c there was just way too much I couldn't understand. The video comes from the bonus download features if you bought the "Waiting Outside the Lines" single in stores. It came with his YouTube performances of "Broken Hearts" and this one as well as an exclusive interview. It was actually these videos that I first uploaded on YouTube and which now has culminated in this forum... You are very good at figuring out the lyrics, and maybe I'll leave that job up to you now. Only two suggestions I have as to things that you might have wrong: (1) I always thought he was saying "Detroit, Toronto and Queens" though I am not entirely sure. (2) I always thought the line was "all the lies, miseries and cheats" or something similar Finally, any chance you can provide download link or email that enhanced audio to me. I know I could rip it, but it will be better quality from your original file.

Ok, last topic for the evening b/c I have a "last day of classes" party to go to tonight. Tomorrow I will work on promotion, est. a set of guidelines, etc. Thanks to everyone who has joined in so far.
I guess this topic can be interpreted in any number of ways, but what I was trying to get at was if somebody didn't know who Greyson was, what one song would you play for them, or what one YouTube video would you show them to try and get them to see why he is so great?
This is my answer to the question:
Something about the fact that this was his first real public performance after having been "discovered" and it just happened to be in front of a crowd of 15-20k people (most of whom probably had no idea who he was) and he got the crowd engaged, and completely nailed it.

When I first became a fan of Greyson and saw that he was following fans on Twitter, I told myself that I didn't care if he followed me or not. However, that didn't last long and finally I realized I really wanted him to follow me back - you know, to validate my fanaticism. I tried tweeting him a few times and asking, but, of course, that didn't work. So, I did a little research and here I will share with everybody "The Secret" to getting "@greysonchance is now following you" in your email. Are you ready? We all know that Greyson follow a bunch of his fans and most of the fans he follows he chooses at random. Well, the key to being one of the chosen is to make sure that your name is at the top of his "followers" page. Those are the people he tends to follow and this only makes sense. He isn't going to scroll through hundreds of names to get to somebody at the bottom of the list. Well, the people at the top of his "followers" list are the people that most recently followed him. So, what I did was every few days I would unfollow and then refollow him so that my name would stay somewhere near the top. It took a few tries, but then I am quite proud (and slightly embarrassed) to say that I succeeded! So, that is "The Secret"... if you can call it that.
