Thanks, guys. Just came across this video and it is even better b/c you can see the blank look come across his face. My assessment about which verses he redid was wrong, but you can see for yourselves. One thing I had forgotten was that Mr. Simpson was telling the mom I was sitting next to that he really wished they could allow photos, but that if they did they'd be there all night (she didn't ask him about it, he just brought up the discussion). Even though I am normally all for catering to the fans, I actually think this is a good call. I wasn't watching the time that closely, but I think most people got through the line in about an hour which for the age of the fan base on week nights is probably about right. And yes, hopefully it is a good thing that he remembered me, but I have to admit that it also ran through my head that I hope I am not on the list of "creepy/stalker people to watch out for."

So, I went to the show last night in Atlanta. Met up with grownups4greyson (Hello, from the facelessness of the internet) and had a good time. Didn't really catch any of the opening acts. I am not sure if anyone performed before her, but Carmyn was on when I got there and she seemed ok not great. Was talking w/ GU4G during the end of her set when Alli Simpson and her dad walked by. Got to say hello to Mr. Simpson who was incredibly nice. It was interesting to see how involved with everything he was - not just as a parent. After the show, he was helping the merchandise people take the tables down, and then when I went to leave he was doing something else to help out. Seems like a really nice guy and you can see where Cody gets it from. Greyson's set was really good as we've come to expect. His on stage banter was better than it was a few months ago when I last saw him, and it was cool seeing him standing on the edge of the drum set and jumping off of it... never seen him do that before. I guess the only notable part is that Greyson totally screwed up Paparazzi and then completely pulled it off like a pro. He started the wrong verse and then tried to bring it back around and was still confused so he resang the first verse and then finished the song like normal. Here is a video of it: His coolness in pressure situations at his age is so remarkable. I would have completely frozen up and not known what to do, but he just kept at it and I'm sure a bunch of the crowd didn't even notice. Also, it is especially impressive since he was playing this one solo and didn't have the band to back him. We were sitting kind of in the back where most of the adults were hanging out and Greyson definitely got a few reactions out of the parents. Cody's set was better than I had expected. I actually think he has a decent voice now that it has dropped some and I liked it when he pulled out the guitar and played some. He sampled a small part of "On My Mind," but didn't play it. Mr. Simpson watched his son's entire set from a few rows in front of me. The crowd was definitely more Team Cody than Team Greyson, but Greyson definitely had his share of fans. After the show, they did do the meet and greet. I had no desire to stand in line, so I just sat and tried to study for my exam that I had today and talked to parents. I was sitting with a woman there towards the end as the line was getting shorter and she stopped Mr. Simpson and spoke to him, so I saw a lot of that man last night... lol. I ended up giving my ticket to the woman's daughter to get signed to be nice b/c she didn't have anything for Cody to sign, but then regretted it b/c I keep all my concert ticket stubs (see, there is my confession... I regret being nice to a 12 year old ). After everybody went through the line, I went up at the end and got each of them to sign my notes I was studying and shook their hands. Greyson and his manager, Lane, remembered me from the last time he was in Atlanta. I am not sure if that is a good thing, or a bad thing, but I was shocked. After Cody signed, Greyson looked at me and said "you look familiar." Me: Well, I came last time you were here Greyson: You brought vinyl Lane: Oh yeah you brought the X records Me: Yeah, that was me. I was kind of enthusiastic and just wanted to share Lane: Oh yeah, he has them on the bus with him What can I say... I was shocked that he even looked at what I gave him nonetheless remembered me. I probably spent all of 20 seconds with him at the meet and greet for the Miranda show b/c I didn't want the fans behind me to miss her set. It was only a few months ago, but I am still impressed. I think that's about it from my side of the story. Sorry for the dispassionate review, but I am tired and I think we all know that I love Greyson and think he is great.

Darn it. Hersey just updated their summer concert series. It does not say anything about Greyson on the Miranda or Cody information. Even though Wikapedia says that greyson will be with Miranda for the whole second leg. That sucks. I am quite confused about the whole thing. A lot of the dates match up to what Miranda has on her site, but then there are some additional dates on Wikipedia and then others that people have found that aren't listed anywhere for her. Guess we'll just have to wait and see. You could always go to the NJ show... it isn't that far I've actually traveled to NJ before just for a concert and I live in the south. Yes, I am nuts, but that was for a show that was a lot longer than 7 songs. Nothing anywhere near me and doesn't look like we'll be getting anything either.

Awesome, thanks. I added it to the list. This is another one of those dates that isn't on Miranda's officially released tour schedule.

New date added in NJ (not too far outside of NYC) with both Miranda and Cody it looks like from this article --> www.nj.com/entertainment/music/index.ssf/2011/05/pnc_bank_arts_center_announces_2.htmlThis looks to be a huge venue for these guys if you look at the other acts on the schedule for the summer (Kings of Leon!)... probably why all three are on the bill, but should be interesting to see how well it sells. Added this to the list in the second post.

You must be going to University of Georgia? I think Georgia State is in Atlanta (I used to live in Atlanta back in the early mid 60s and later in the mid late 70s) Yeah, UGA Law... for a few more weeks anyway. Glad you had a great time and looking forward to a more thorough review.

We've got some non-Harry Potter fans on our hands?? It is a Butterbeer. The drink of choice of Hogwarts students when they get to go to Hogsmeade Village on the weekends... duh Obviously it was a completely fictitious creation for the books, but they created a recipe for it to sell at "Harry Potter World." djtiny: I know this isn't what you mean exactly, but there was this article written not long after Greyson became famous speculating on whether or not the whole things was a ruse --? www.csmonitor.com/USA/2010/0515/Is-Greyson-Chance-s-serendipitous-Youtube-rise-a-ruse

What? I believe this is what duckbiter is referring to. I like these interviews where they ask stuff besides the standard questions.

OMG! I can not WAIT for this album, anyone have a SORT of idea of when he is gunna release it? Cause last time i checked, someone said April 2011. Well , its now may and still not you Greyson has said multipul times in recent interviews and at live events that Hold on Til The Night should be out 'before school starts'. Which would be sometime before September. So it could be next week, or August 31st I think an important consideration to think about will be what date Ellen comes back on the air with new episodes. To me "before school" means early August, but this last year her first show of the season was at the VMAs which was in mid-September. I guess they might just release it and then wait for him to be on Ellen to bump the sales a few weeks after release, but that's something to think about.

Pretty much that entire post makes me incredibly jealous. I am not an obsessed Beatles fan, but I have more than a healthy respect and admiration for their body of work. I was fortunate enough to see Paul here in Atlanta some time when I was in high school (The Driving Rain Tour - whenever that was). He played here a year or so ago again and I somehow talked myself out of going b/c it was the night before my first day of classes and I had already moved back out to Athens for the year. That was pretty dumb on my part, b/c it is only a little over an hour drive. A drive I am making tomorrow to see a 13 year old play 7 songs.
Lee, are you going tonight?

I randomly ran across this video last night when trying to put together the setlist page. This is Greyson's performance of "Paparazzi" from his appearance on Le Grand Journal which appears to be kind of a big deal in Paris. The website where they upload episodes of the show after they air doesn't allow you to rip the videos, so his interview and performance haven't been out there for people to see (well half of the performance was out there, but not the whole thing). Anyway, this might be my favorite of his performance of "Paparazzi" since the original video. Edit: Ok, so the YouTube video got blocked right away, but I ripped the audio if anybody is interested in listening to it --> "Paparazzi" (solo piano) - Paris, FR (December 10, 2010)Here is part of the performance:

Hmm, short of being completely illegal, yes I'm keeping it pretty simple However, that does bring up an interesting topic, if you where to have a wideband wireless reciever and know the wireless frequency of greyson's transmitter you might have something there > Oh yeah, I was dead serious about how they do it. Not that I understand it, but the best bootleg recordings that aren't from radio broadcasts (which I guess aren't really bootlegs) are the ones where they take a "normal" audience recording and mix it with an IEM recording. The audience recording gives the atmosphere of the crowd (applause, participation, etc.) while the IEM allows them to bring out the sound of the band better than just the audience recording. I have no idea how the people that do it have the time or money to do it, but months after a show they will released them and they sound almost as good as an official release. Springsteen is one of the most heavily bootlegged artists of all time b/c no two shows are the same b/c he is always playing random stuff and changing up the setlist. Also, b/c he sucks in the studio and no really big fan listens to his studio recordings... it is all about the live show. Therefore, I can at least kind of keep up when talking about bootlegs and what you are looking for in them. However, I was kidding about us trying to go about getting the recordings in this manner. I think we can just hope that as he gets bigger more copies of his shows surface. For now the YouTube videos will do. I am going on Thursday and I still haven't decided if I am going to try and tape or not. I kind of don't want to, but then I feel kind of selfish not at least attempting to get some good footage, but some pretty decent stuff has turned up recently like those posted at the top of the thread.
