I agree with everybody else that his greyson97 YouTube account could be put to much better use. Whenever he has put something up there in the past it has gotten some attention in the press and it gets those people who only subscribed for the "Paparazzi" video to see him doing something else as well. It can't be that hard for somebody to make 5 min. behind the scenes videos of the tour (at school, tour of bus, soundchecking, touring a city, etc.) and post one every week or two, just to keep people up to date and interested.

Sorry for the double post, I particulary like this recording of HoS, although the screaming is pretty consistant it doesn't overwhelm the rest of the track too bad. Yeah, that is the one that I put on the MP3 index b/c it seems like the best recording so far. None of them are great, but it will have to do for now. I think I also used that "Light Up the Dark" but I am not sure if there are better versions of that song out there or not. I didn't feel like combing through a million videos yesterday to find one.

Mapender, from what I’ve read I have to agree with you regarding the sales numbers needed to do well on the physical singles chart -- so many artists don't even release physical singles anymore. I think I’m mostly encouraged by the fact that it has held its position for so long a time period. If most of his fans at the time picked up the EP early on, like I did, then the fact that it has held its position for so long must indicate an ever growing fanbase -- a fanbase he will need for his album to debut well. True, and I didn't think about it like that. I always thought it was a strange move to only put the songs on a physical single in stores. I know Greyson, himself, has a real appreciation of albums and owning them on vinyl and stuff, but for the most part he is appealing to the iTunes generation who is used to instant downloads of individual songs. Plus, with the single it wasn't like there was any thematic reason to make people buy all the songs at once. They were just randomly released songs to get some product out there. Anybody have any insight as to why they might have done that initially? Just to be able to say "number1 physical single"?

I agree with grownups4greyson. However, I think that another group that needs to be focused on more is the kids themselves. So many people focus on how parents/teachers/school administrators can stop bullying, but the fact is that many times they are not aware of what is going on, or if they are it is too late.
Personally, I was never bullied (teased sure, but never badly) and I never knew or saw anybody be bullied to the drastic extremes that you hear about on the news. However, I certainly saw people get teased or made fun of to the point that it was definitely bordering on going overboard and had these people been more sensitive, it could have lead to tragic consequences. Luckily nothing like that ever happened, but looking back on things now I wish I had had the guts to just tell my friends to shut up or to have stood up for the person being made fun of in some other way. However, like many teenagers I just went with the flow and kept my mouth shut. For most people, but especially teenagers, peer pressure is one of the most important influences on their behavior and I think that if other students would stand up to the bullies it would go a long way to stopping their behavior. Schools try a lot of different ways to educate students on the dangers of certain behaviors, but it is awfully hard to fight with that "it will never happen to me" mentality of young people. From my experience, the only things that ever really got to me would be when actual people/victims would come and tell their stories and show how their lives were affected by just one (or a few) simple choices. I don't ever remember a speaker about bullying, but I do remember the one about texting and driving and her story still stays with me to this day. All the powerpoints or lectures on a topic citing facts and figures go in one ear and out the other, but seeing a 19 year old quadraplegic in front of me who has to live w/ her disability and the fact that she killed a father and son as well is not something that is easily forgotten.

This is good to hear though I would think that there isn't all that much competition in this category... maybe I am wrong???
I think that the promotional push will be big for Greyson's album and I think that it will sell pretty well. Greyson's team has been able to get him some pretty big appearances (i.e. Fallon, GMA, and of course Ellen). The key will be to choose to release it in a week where there is as little competition as possible. This is obviously the key for any album release, normally, but these days it doesn't take much to get a #1 album and having that on his resume will boost his visibility even more. It is kind of like a Grammy Award. These days, the awards mean pretty much nothing, but still having "Grammy Award Winning Artist" is an important label for people that helps increase their popularity. Same with "#1 Album."

I don't really know what they could do about it, because technically people could really be named Greyson Chance. Of course, we all know that this isn't likely the case esp. if they are using Greyson's picture but it could be. I do wonder if Greyson, Inc. were to contact facebook if they would remove certain sites if asked to do so. I think that people / parents just need to make sure they are dealing with the official site which is fairly easy to tell if you know what to look for. I think it would be a good idea for Facebook to do a better job promoting which is the official site (like Twitter does w/ verified accounts). What does bother me is the Twitter twitter.com/greysonchancee who is essentially impersonating Greyson (I seriously doubt it is actually him). These two tweets are from some time ago and I haven't been following along w/ that person for a while now, but it is obvious that some fans think that it is really him. Here are the two tweets soliciting money... I don't know if people actually gave money, but it sounds like it and that is problematic. I DMed Greyson about it hoping that somebody on his team would see it and do something about it, but I doubt those messages are checked.

retiredone, i apologize, new to this how do i check my messages? appreciate it. I'll answer that one. At the top right hand corner next to the icon thingy w/ Greyson's picture on it there is something that might be kind of hard to read that says "Hey, osooners11, you have X messages, Y are new." Then you can click on either the X or Y (which will obviously be numbers depending on how many messages you have) and it will take you to your inbox.

where can i listen to the best version of Summer Train? Where can you find "Summer Train''? "Summer Train" is a song that leaked and hence all links to it have been removed from the internet due to copyright violations. Check your PMs b/c I explained more fully in there.

Yes, so I officially have no life.... or at least I will have good evidence why I don't do well on my finals next week. Anyway, I have started a MP3 index of live recordings. No official recordings will be put on there for copyright reasons and to make sure that people actually buy the songs and support Greyson. However, until somebody (i.e. Greyson, Inc.) says they have a problem, I think having a freely accessible MP3 index will be helpful for everybody. I broke the forum up into two parts. One of them contains the three bootlegs that I know to be in existence of entire shows. The other contains download links to a bunch of individual performances. I think I have something of every song Greyson has ever played, but I think some more things could be added, but I didn't feel like going through a million YouTube videos to find a decent sounding audio. I hoped that somebody on here might have favorited some videos on YouTube or just might remember other performances worth including. Things I know I am specifically looking for: (1) More "updated" version of Paparazzi b/c the only one I listed is the original video (2) Good full band version of Fire (3) Good full band version of Empire State of Mind Also, I just ripped the audio for these downloads, If you download one and decided that it wasn't ripped well, then please let me know and I will try again. Also let me know if you notice any of the links aren't linking to the correct thing and most importantly if you come across a great sounding version that should be included. I am not trying to make the thing comprehensive, but just a good sampling for people to be able to choose from. I do want the complete shows to be comprehensive, though, so any copy of those I will upload no matter the sound quality. Edit: Forgot to post a link --> greysonchance.proboards.com/index.cgi?board=mp3index Love my grammar in this post

Popstar Magazine posted a bunch of videos from the NYC shows a few days ago.
Interviews with both Greyson and Cody that were pretty cool.
Some of the performances:
Cody Simpson: All Day & Not Just You
Greyson Chance: Paparazzi
Greyson Chance: Waiting Outside the Lines

Thanks for posting this & all the work on your other vids to edit out crowd noise. Ditto. Been meaning to ask, do you think anything could be done to help "Past"?

According to Wikapeda it says that Greyson will be opening for Miranda for the entire 1st and 2nd legs of the "Dancing Crazy Tour''. On Darrien Lake's website it says that the show there will be with Greyson. No mention of Greyson on any website except Darrien Lake's website.Greyson has not mentioned anything on Twitter or Facebook about a second tour with Miranda or opening for BTR. On www.hersheypark.com it says hat miranda will be there on July 17th. Two weks before that Cody Simpson will be there. I hope Greyson is with one of them. Interesting. I didn't think to look at Wikipedia. It actually lists four more dates at the end that aren't on her official site. I guess it will be pretty safe to assume that Greyson will be opening all of the shows, since he seems to be listed on the tickets page (not on Ticketmaster, but the venues' tickets pages) for a majority of them so far, but on the first leg he didn't open one of the shows b/c he did that special show back in Edmond instead so better not to assume until we know for sure. Interesting that he might be doing a show in Canada, but I went to that site and Miranda isn't even listed on there, so who knows. Def. update if you find out he is playing Hershey b/c I bet a lot of people would be interested in that show. Thanks for joining the forum!

Yeah, that was really cool, I hadn't seen it either. It really shows you how all the stars how to align for Greyson to have caught the break that he did b/c this video while an interesting view of the proceedings wouldn't have gotten him noticed had it been the only one posted.
Things in my estimation that had to come together: 1. Greyson being talented, having see Lady Gaga perform, want to be a musician, etc. 2. Greyson's mom convincing him to do "Paparazzi" rather than "Fire." I actually think he performs "Fire" better than "Paparazzi," but there is no denying that "Sixth Grade Boy Blows School Away with Lady Gaga Cover" is a much better headline than "Sixth Grade Boy Blows School Away with Cover of a Song by a Band Nobody Has Ever Heard Of." 3. His teacher allowing him to do it. There is an interview w/ ABC news I think where she said that she had her doubts about his song choice, but after hearing it decided to let him do it. 4. Him mom not being able to make the performance so his dad taped it. (Maybe they would have taped it anyway, but maybe not). 5. Greyson's dad actually getting a video w/ both decent sound and video. 6. The girls sitting in the back of Greyson like they were. Greyson's talent was what blew us all away, I know, but the reactions of the girls in the back were also a big selling point of the video and helped it gain traction and even more views. 7. Greyson deciding to upload the video on YouTube. 8. Some blogger seeing this video among the millions of videos and posting it on his blog which started the whole thing. 9. Ellen seeing it and bringing him on the show (Though at this point I think she just got to him first - I'm sure somebody else would have scooped him up if she hadn't.)
I'm sure I'm leaving something out, but that is pretty amazing to think about how a few simple decisions changed his life completely.
Edit:
Here is the video. Thanks, duckbiter for bringing it to our attention.

Here is the great review from the Washington Post about Greyson's set from D.C. that he tweeted out --> www.washingtonpost.com/blogs/click-track/post/in-concert-greyson-chance-at-sixth-and-i-historic-synagogue/2011/04/29/AFU4DVEF_blog.htmlI haven't seen any professional reviews of the Waiting4U! tour so far, but this reviewer pretty much sums up my feelings on Greyson. Anybody else seen any other reviews before? In concert: Greyson Chance at Sixth & I Historic SynagogueBy Dave McKenna An old-school musicians cliche held there were three ways to get to the big stage: Practice, practice, practice. In recent years, alas, those routes have given way to YouTube, “American Idol” and the Disney sitcom. Greyson Chance and Cody Simpson both used Option No. 1. At Sixth & I Historic Synagogue on Thursday, Chance used a 25-minute set to celebrate the one-year anniversary, to the day, of the posting of the short film that launched him. In that viral clip, the then pre-teen pianist/singer from Oklahoma crooned Lady Gaga's "Paparazzi" at his 6th grade talent show. Within a verse and a chorus, a gaggle of schoolgirls abandoned any fear of cooties and became visibly enraptured with their classmate. According to YouTube, Chance's clip has logged more than 39 million views. Chance, now 13, recreated every bit of the gloriousness of his Gaga cover in the middle of his Synagogue set, and won over the much bigger, though similarly-aged, audience just as surely. He kept the Tiger Beat target demo swooning with a version of Jay-Z's "Empire State of Mind" that showed flashes of Freddie Mercury and had enough bombast for Broadway. He delivered "Waiting Outside the Lines," a song he'd unveiled earlier in the week as the special guest performer at the White House Easter Egg Roll, as Coldplay would. Catching Chance at this stage in his career is akin to watching a thoroughbred of impeccable breeding gallop as a yearling. He doesn't have his legs under him yet, and stumbles are possible, but the raw materials are such that it's hard to bet against him running with the big boys in a few years. After his set, Chance shared a soul shake and a chest-bump onstage with show-closer Cody Simpson that were charmingly lacking in both soul and chests. Simpson, a 14-year-old Australian, was discovered via his 2009 YouTube postings. Simpson's performance, which was a juice box to Chance's champagne, relied on pre-recorded vocals and a dance troupe, but the kids didn't hold that against him.

You mean this? Even though Greyson has never mentioned her by name, I think many of the fans have assumed that she was the girl who "broken hearts" was written about. Some fans are even circulating her last name, but I am not going to post that on here.
