First, I hope you are feeling a lot better Being around adults 24/7 without any peers is one of the few things Greyson talked about candidly and why should any 13 yo not have at least one friend to hang with! Thanks for the kind words, and Special thanks to duckbiter for his comments on my other posts. Regarding the lonliness of touring and being around adults all the time, I agree that having Cody & his siblings around helps. When I met Lisa in Atlanta, I gave her a suggestion that she called, "a very good idea" that I think will help a lot. I hope that she, Scott, & Lane will be able to put the idea to good use. I will not post it here so as not to compromise things if the idea works, but I do wonder if I was truly able to help.

www.richestbillionaires.com/2011/05/american-pop-rock-singer-greyson-chance.htmlAmerican Pop Rock Singer Greyson Chance Net Worth 2011No doubt of course any income he makes is in a trust fund that his parents set up that he will have total access to in 4 years or so and for now he gets an allowance. Interesting that none of us here (at least as far as I can tell) have discussed Greyson's financial windfall... I think he def earned it for a Hard Years Work! Of course that's a far cry from Justin Bieber's $65.5 million. So let the speculation and debate begin on Greyson's financial future and potential!! (: I just pray that Greyson & his parents take direct involvement in his finances through a FEE ONLY financial planner & don't rely on COMMISION Brokers & others to handle things. The Osmonds had 80-100 million dollars in the bank & lost it all by trusting the wrong people. Those that don't learn from history are condemned to repeat it. I wanted to talk to Greyson & his parents about this but how does one's concerns get heard through the whirlwind of touring & superstardom? Not to mention the thousands of "business people" vying for their attention? The clips below have relevance to my concerns for Greyson & his family but I don't know how to edit them down to the relevant parts. Clip 1 shows just how BIG The Osmonds were in the '70's. Then we can jump in the time machine & fast forward 30 years & hear about the pitfalls. I wish I could edit this down so it won't be boring for some people, but please take time to view both videos if you can & let me know what you think about protecting Greyson & his Family. Osmonds circa 1972 (I believe Greyson will be this big or bigger!) The first 4 minutes show girls fainting & being carried out. Then, the show has to be stopped due to people being hurt by the crowd surge crushing people up front. (All Greyson fans that complain about being asked to please step back, please take note. This is the reason why they ask you to move back & not push). Finally at 5:10 - 6:30, they have to run for their lives. THE POINT of this clip is to show life at the top of the roller coaster. You wonder "If they were this big, how could they lose it all? Then the next clip shows the valleys if you don't watch your money- if you trust the wrong people who will willingly "invest" it for you until it is all gone. The Osmonds circa 2004 talking about lost fortunes, health problems, & not being able to do the ROCK that they wanted to do. I hope Greyson's family can see the portions about The Osmonds not overseeing where their money was going. And I hope Greyson sticks to his guns on performing the kind of music he wants to, so he doesn't end up dancing in a lobster suit. There are a lot of cautionary tales in this series. I wish I could edit everything down so you guys wouldn't be bored by the mundane parts that only matter to those of us that lived through the time. I know that Greyson and his parents are Christians like me. And as such, they are probably very trusting. I pray that they get to see these clips and heed the lessons of history. As far as the roller coaster ride of fame goes, I believe that there is a dynamic that takes place. All these young girls with their first crush love Greyson throughout their high school years. Then its off to college where they want to put away their "childhood" dreams. Suddenly, the ones they adored have become "uncool", or perhaps the star gets married & is now off the market. So the fickle fan base plummets, recording contracts are lost, and the tours end. If a star is not prepared for this sudden rejection, the consequences can be devastating. Then, 10-15 years later, after these girls have been married & have raised kids of their own, then they want to relive their childhood memories. So they long to see their former heartthrobs once again. And so the fan base begins to grow & the touring starts again. If there is one person in the world that I wish Greyson Chance could have an hour alone to talk with about this dynamic of fame, it would be Donny Osmond. Like many young stars, he lived through the crushing rejection & the suggestions that he "get busted for drugs" to revive his career. Thankfully, Donny did not follow that path, & he was able to revive his career on his own terms without sacrificing his faith and values. Greyson could learn a lot about the future by talking with him. I wish I could wave a magic Harry Potter wand and make such a meeting happen. Thankfully, Greyson's parents are not "stage parents" & Greyson is doing what he wants to do. I just pray for him that he never lets his self-worth come from the adoration of his fans, but only from the content of his character.

This is a very cute Greyson Chance Interview from Portland Oregon. Much better than his, for lack of a better phrase, "standard" interviews. Watching Greyson get flustered lets you see his gentleness, his humbleness ( is that a word?), and his "kid" qualities. After the interview, he performs Empire State of Mind (Do I detect a little voice change going on in the middle?) He also goofs around on the keyboard at the end. Such a polite, cute, kind, humble boy. Not a self centered, jaded "Superstar". I hope he keeps these qualities as he grows up. What do you guys think?

Mapender & Duckbiter. Such GREAT POSTS!. I will try to add to this discussion when I feel better. When I met Lisa in Atlanta I gave her information about "A Minor Consideration". I hope my zeal did not make her uncomfortable, and I hope she and Scott will follow up on the info I gave her. I also hope that you guys will check out their web page & post your thoughts here. From the home page, go to the "contents" page. www.minorcon.org. 1950's child star Paul Peterson is the president of the group, which is run by many former child stars. It sounds like they could do a lot to help guide Greyson & his family. Their services are free, so I hope when Greyson gets back to L.A. that he and his parents will get an opportunity to investigate further. I don't want Greyson to end up feeling like this in forty years: This topic is very important to me because of what Donny & his family went through. So I hope to post more when I'm feeling better. I want to make it very clear that I am not saying anything negative about Greyson's parents. I believe they are supporting Greyson in HIS dream (they are NOT stage parents). I just believe that there is a lot that the Chance family can gain by following up with "A Minor Consideration". I wish I could know for sure that Greyson & his parents had time to check out this information.

Does Twitter have to be your only source of information? Wikipedia.org has a lot of information about Greyson, as do his various fan sites. Beware of imposters on twitter & facebook. Just use caution as you would anywhere on the internet. Good luck with your project.

One of the greatest joys in my life is giving "over the top" surprises to people and making them happy. So I love it when other people do this as well. I've decided to share some of my favorite "surprise" videos here. This thread is for happy surprises, not for "scares" or anything negative or degrading to the persons in the video. I hope my fellow Greyson Chance Forum Friends will enjoy, and that some of the "fan" surprises can be used by Greyson, or Greyson and Ellen, at some point (Greyson & Ellen, are you listening?).
1st vid has nothing to do with Greyson, but it is still fun, and somewhat amazing.
This next one is something Greyson could do.
The Grandfather at 2:45 reacts like me. Such great joy in watching the happiness of others.
When Greyson starts playing larger venues, he could do this!
Share the love.

Is there a video of Greyson where he screwed up? Saw one somewhere. I'll have to start searching. Gives me something to do.

mapender, I have I love Mickey Mose cartoons. on Disney channel they have short shows called"Have a Laugh" It's old disney cartoons. Well that's good to hear that they at least sometimes air the classics still. I actually babysat a couple of girls a few summers ago and so I probably know more about the Disney and Nickelodeon shows than most of my friends. I actually thoroughly enjoyed iCarly and a couple of others. I miss the old Jiminey Crickett cartoons. (Sings) "I'm no fool, nosiree. I'm going to live to be a hundred and three. I play safe for you and me 'cos I'm no fool". Learned a lot of life saving information from that little green bug.

Trying to procrastinate, I made an "advertisement" and put it as a video response to the WOTL video. I know everybody is going to be incredibly jealous of my awesome video-making talent www.youtube.com/watch?v=bSCwaMe3-XEWorks for me. Good job.

Sounds like a good idea for most fans. I can't promise because my health problems are unpredictable. Plus, I can't type fast enough to keep up. But it is a good idea nonetheless. I hope others will participate.

Another suggestion, as I try to imagine how this board appears to a 13 year old or younger kid, so I can figure out ways to "grow" our membership.
The current welcome text is as follows:
Welcome to The Greyson Chance Forum!
If you are an avid Greyson Chance fan and follower, or just love his music, please feel free to REGISTER and join in on the discussion!
We hope you enjoy your stay, - The GCF Management and Moderation Team.
Help me with the wording here. Perhaps we could say something like:
Welcome to The Greyson Chance Forum!
Whether you are an avid Greyson Chance fan and follower, or just love his music, you can view any topic on the board anonymously. But we encourage you to ( SIGN UP, JOIN or REGISTER) and LOG IN so you can be in on the discussion by posting your own comments.
We hope you enjoy your stay, - The GCF Management and Moderation Team.
You guys can play around with the wording, or leave it the way it is. I'm just trying prevent some kid from looking at the first page and seeing the word REGISTER and being scared away before they realize what we are about. Or before they realize that they can "surf the site for free". I feel a lot of parents have ingrained in their kids, "DO NOT SIGN UP FOR ANYTHING!" I am reminded of some "You Tube" posts I read where someone was offering to email the Summer Train clip to people, but the other person was scared off because the "sender" needed to send it via email, so they just said "NVM". Maybe I am over analyzing things, but hey, what else have I got to do?
