I was at the April 23rd show in Foxboro and it was great. Nice view too, seeing as I was one of the tallest person there I think the opening acts took a bit too long though. And I wish Greysons set was longer, but then again he only has so many songs to perform yet. Also it seemed a lot more based on Cody then grey :/ I have recordings of all of greysons performance on my YouTube channel. Djtinydjservices Not the best recordings, but non them less

Let me say first that I was a bit worried about being the only “older person” at an event full of young people. Then I decided that someone had to drive all the kids there and indeed that was the case. So, if you are older and want to go -- GO! You won’t feel out of place, besides, you don’t want to be “living inside the box -- afraid of taking chances.” It may be that Greyson will be the first young performer since Billy Gilman to appeal to all ages.
I’ve actually seen Greyson live 3X now. 2X with Miranda Cosgrove in Milwaukee and Chicago and 1X with Cody Simpson at the Rave (supposedly haunted and the last performance venue for Buddy Holly) in Milwaukee.
The Youtube videos really don’t convey the energy and emotions of a live performance. A word of warning, however -- the sound level at the very end of the Rave concert was almost painful. It was almost 15min. before my ears “popped,” and late the next day before my hearing really felt normal again. It may not be like that at all venues of course.
Greyson has said that it was his and Cody Simpson’s idea to tour together; and I must say, it worked out very well -- something for everyone. To my surprise, I actually enjoyed Cody’s set too; the kid does have talent. Both performers had about the same amount of time. Greyson sang 1 or 2 more songs (7 total) than Cody, but I think a couple of Cody’s were a little longer. I get a charge out of the way the girls join in with parts of Greyson’s songs. “I’m your biggest fan. I’ll follow you until you love me,” seems to happen automatically at every show.

Here is the great review from the Washington Post about Greyson's set from D.C. that he tweeted out --> www.washingtonpost.com/blogs/click-track/post/in-concert-greyson-chance-at-sixth-and-i-historic-synagogue/2011/04/29/AFU4DVEF_blog.htmlI haven't seen any professional reviews of the Waiting4U! tour so far, but this reviewer pretty much sums up my feelings on Greyson. Anybody else seen any other reviews before? In concert: Greyson Chance at Sixth & I Historic SynagogueBy Dave McKenna An old-school musicians cliche held there were three ways to get to the big stage: Practice, practice, practice. In recent years, alas, those routes have given way to YouTube, “American Idol” and the Disney sitcom. Greyson Chance and Cody Simpson both used Option No. 1. At Sixth & I Historic Synagogue on Thursday, Chance used a 25-minute set to celebrate the one-year anniversary, to the day, of the posting of the short film that launched him. In that viral clip, the then pre-teen pianist/singer from Oklahoma crooned Lady Gaga's "Paparazzi" at his 6th grade talent show. Within a verse and a chorus, a gaggle of schoolgirls abandoned any fear of cooties and became visibly enraptured with their classmate. According to YouTube, Chance's clip has logged more than 39 million views. Chance, now 13, recreated every bit of the gloriousness of his Gaga cover in the middle of his Synagogue set, and won over the much bigger, though similarly-aged, audience just as surely. He kept the Tiger Beat target demo swooning with a version of Jay-Z's "Empire State of Mind" that showed flashes of Freddie Mercury and had enough bombast for Broadway. He delivered "Waiting Outside the Lines," a song he'd unveiled earlier in the week as the special guest performer at the White House Easter Egg Roll, as Coldplay would. Catching Chance at this stage in his career is akin to watching a thoroughbred of impeccable breeding gallop as a yearling. He doesn't have his legs under him yet, and stumbles are possible, but the raw materials are such that it's hard to bet against him running with the big boys in a few years. After his set, Chance shared a soul shake and a chest-bump onstage with show-closer Cody Simpson that were charmingly lacking in both soul and chests. Simpson, a 14-year-old Australian, was discovered via his 2009 YouTube postings. Simpson's performance, which was a juice box to Chance's champagne, relied on pre-recorded vocals and a dance troupe, but the kids didn't hold that against him.

I remember seeing a You Tube clip from an evening news program that was positive, but I was struck by the fact that, according to the reporter, the news crew was not allowed to film any segments of the show. IMHO this is a colossal blunder by Greyson's P.R. staff. They even used to show clips from Beatles concerts back in the day. What better way to build Greyson's fan base than having 15 seconds of "Unfriend U" on the local news.
Having said that, Whenever Greyson is in town I think we all should call news department of the local station that carries Ellen and make sure they are aware of the connection and suggest that they cover the concert.

After reading your post I guess I need to go. I've been trying to get my niece & nephew intrested. Gonna show them the live clips of Unfriend U and Heart Like Stone this weekend. But I will be sure to take my earplugs.Check out Paul Stanley (Kiss) appearence on "The Doctors" about hearing loss

OUCH! for Cody. Hope he doesn't see this review, but truthfully, the reviewer is expressing my thoughts very well. Cody, JB, & similar acts don't appeal to me. Not my kind of music. But Greyson is uniquely talented for his age & knows how to ROCK!

Grownups4greyson, One reason that I really wanted to see Greyson perform now was that if he really becomes successful, ticket prices (if you can get a ticket) will really go up; and more importantly, he will be playing larger, less personal venues. Half the fun in watching Greyson perform is being close enough to see him really get into the number -- he’s at the piano and his whole body is moving to the music When he’s really into a piece like that, he’s not just an artist singing a song -- he is the song. It’s something you don’t see in other young performers or a lot of adult artists for that matter. P.S. I actually had ear plugs with me in Milwaukee, but couldn't find them at the end when I really needed them.

Yeah, I pretty much agree with the reviewer, but I really like Cody and feel kind of bad seeing adults put him down even though that's part of the business. I actually like him a lot more than I did when I first heard that iYiYi song when they released it. I still think that Greyson's pure talent far outshines Cody's, but he is talented as well and you never know how things will turn out. I got him to sign that ticket from the Miranda Cosgrove show and I can totally see one day being able to say that I saw him when his name wasn't even on the ticket.

I saw greyson and cody wen they were doing a concert not too far from me. First thing is that there was no mention of Lunchables like the other shows. Second the place was a bar for college students. greyson and Cody are way to big to perfrom there. It holds 200 people. The guards told the auidence to move back they did not move back. I moved back. that caused them not to sign at the end. I was very dissappointed that i could not meet Greyson. At least iImet him when he was with Miranda last Feburay. Greyson did not have his red WOTl piano like he had at the other shows. Instead he had a keyboard. Probaly because the stage was so small. Shane Harper did not open because he was shooting an episode of 'Good Luck Charlie' instead we got a really good brother and sister group Micheal and Marissa. Camryn was fantastic. I had a fantatic standing spot.

OK here is Part 1 - Orlando Florida at the House of Blues
Heart of Stone and Light Up The Dark
As I mentioned focusing and the sound is not consistent due to my hand covering the microphone slots - this camera has buttons and stiff all over the sides and there is no easy way to hold it lol
More to come...and a review (:

So, I went to the show last night in Atlanta. Met up with grownups4greyson (Hello, from the facelessness of the internet) and had a good time. Didn't really catch any of the opening acts. I am not sure if anyone performed before her, but Carmyn was on when I got there and she seemed ok not great. Was talking w/ GU4G during the end of her set when Alli Simpson and her dad walked by. Got to say hello to Mr. Simpson who was incredibly nice. It was interesting to see how involved with everything he was - not just as a parent. After the show, he was helping the merchandise people take the tables down, and then when I went to leave he was doing something else to help out. Seems like a really nice guy and you can see where Cody gets it from. Greyson's set was really good as we've come to expect. His on stage banter was better than it was a few months ago when I last saw him, and it was cool seeing him standing on the edge of the drum set and jumping off of it... never seen him do that before. I guess the only notable part is that Greyson totally screwed up Paparazzi and then completely pulled it off like a pro. He started the wrong verse and then tried to bring it back around and was still confused so he resang the first verse and then finished the song like normal. Here is a video of it: His coolness in pressure situations at his age is so remarkable. I would have completely frozen up and not known what to do, but he just kept at it and I'm sure a bunch of the crowd didn't even notice. Also, it is especially impressive since he was playing this one solo and didn't have the band to back him. We were sitting kind of in the back where most of the adults were hanging out and Greyson definitely got a few reactions out of the parents. Cody's set was better than I had expected. I actually think he has a decent voice now that it has dropped some and I liked it when he pulled out the guitar and played some. He sampled a small part of "On My Mind," but didn't play it. Mr. Simpson watched his son's entire set from a few rows in front of me. The crowd was definitely more Team Cody than Team Greyson, but Greyson definitely had his share of fans. After the show, they did do the meet and greet. I had no desire to stand in line, so I just sat and tried to study for my exam that I had today and talked to parents. I was sitting with a woman there towards the end as the line was getting shorter and she stopped Mr. Simpson and spoke to him, so I saw a lot of that man last night... lol. I ended up giving my ticket to the woman's daughter to get signed to be nice b/c she didn't have anything for Cody to sign, but then regretted it b/c I keep all my concert ticket stubs (see, there is my confession... I regret being nice to a 12 year old ). After everybody went through the line, I went up at the end and got each of them to sign my notes I was studying and shook their hands. Greyson and his manager, Lane, remembered me from the last time he was in Atlanta. I am not sure if that is a good thing, or a bad thing, but I was shocked. After Cody signed, Greyson looked at me and said "you look familiar." Me: Well, I came last time you were here Greyson: You brought vinyl Lane: Oh yeah you brought the X records Me: Yeah, that was me. I was kind of enthusiastic and just wanted to share Lane: Oh yeah, he has them on the bus with him What can I say... I was shocked that he even looked at what I gave him nonetheless remembered me. I probably spent all of 20 seconds with him at the meet and greet for the Miranda show b/c I didn't want the fans behind me to miss her set. It was only a few months ago, but I am still impressed. I think that's about it from my side of the story. Sorry for the dispassionate review, but I am tired and I think we all know that I love Greyson and think he is great.

Fascinating details, Meredith. As one who can't hope to see GC in person, I love to read things like this.
Btw, next time you see him, give him a slap from me. NO MORE LUNCHABLES AND NO MORE SUNBURN! Srsly he should talk to Cody (an Australian) about MALIGNANT MELANOMA.
