Meredith, that is so cool that he remembered you and even kept your gift ! he never stops impressing...that paparazzi video is great, and even that's the first video I've seen that he slipped up, and that's really awesome. I'm jealous of you know :]

Thanks, guys. Just came across this video and it is even better b/c you can see the blank look come across his face. My assessment about which verses he redid was wrong, but you can see for yourselves. One thing I had forgotten was that Mr. Simpson was telling the mom I was sitting next to that he really wished they could allow photos, but that if they did they'd be there all night (she didn't ask him about it, he just brought up the discussion). Even though I am normally all for catering to the fans, I actually think this is a good call. I wasn't watching the time that closely, but I think most people got through the line in about an hour which for the age of the fan base on week nights is probably about right. And yes, hopefully it is a good thing that he remembered me, but I have to admit that it also ran through my head that I hope I am not on the list of "creepy/stalker people to watch out for."

So, I went to the show last night in Atlanta. ... After everybody went through the line, I went up at the end and got e I ended up giving my ticket to the woman's daughter to get signed to be nice b/c she didn't have anything for Cody to sign, but then regretted it b/c I keep all my concert ticket stubs (see, there is my confession... I regret being nice to a 12 year old ),,, . Mapender, I'll send you my ticket if you want it . And may I say publicly to everyone here that it was a delight to meet "mapender". She is truly a goodhearted person. And because she pointed out Mr. Simpson to me I was able to pass on some albums & other gifts for Greyson and his family. Thanks again, Merideth. And thank you for all of the effort that you put into this board that we all enjoy!

Fascinating details, Meredith. As one who can't hope to see GC in person, I love to read things like this. Btw, next time you see him, give him a slap from me. NO MORE LUNCHABLES AND NO MORE SUNBURN! Srsly he should talk to Cody (an Australian) about MALIGNANT MELANOMA. Haha, I am not sure that I am not sure that I would be the best person to convey your message. I am certainly not the world's most healthy eater and have a disdain for sunscreen - what can I say, still kind of young and still quite dumb. I actually kind of had him to myself there at the end of the signing and probably could have asked a number of questions, but the situation just didn't seem right for it so I just thanked him and left. Even though I quite like Greyson touring the states over and over again for selfish reasons, I know that there are a lot of international fans that really want a chance to see him. On YouTube you can see in what countries your uploaded videos are popular, and I know that Greyson is really popular in certain countries in Western Europe. I do hope once the album is released he ventures out of the U.S. to expand his fan base internationally and give those fans a chance to see him live. [ Mapender, I'll send you my ticket if you want it . And may I say publicly to everyone here that it was a delight to meet "mapender". She is truly a goodhearted person. And thank you for all of the effort that you put into this board that we all enjoy! Thanks. It was nice meeting you as well. Though you were the one that said Mr. Simpson might be somebody to talk to, I just confirmed your belief once I saw he was with Alli. I had seen a picture of Cody's family before, but except for Cody and Alli, I wasn't really sure what they looked like.

mapender, Just watched the video and I like how they used white light on the piano instead of red that time. Thred red they used at the performance I saw really washed out the rest of the piano. He seemed even more into it then he usually does at this one Aww, poor Greyson, "leather and jemmmmmmm...show what it meens, but this..." The crowed certainly didn't seem to mind after a few more lines though I like this one, seems a little more rushed then other ones maybe?

As something of a distant observer of events to do with GC, may I say I envy your opportunities to meet Greyson, his family and team.
BUT MY FRIENDS, I CHARGE YOU WITH AN IMPORTANT RESPONSIBILITY.
If our Forum is to be be respected and trusted by Greyson and his entourage, we must show ourselves to be trustworthy, careful and accurate in our comments.
So far mapender and grownups4greyson have been on the front line, so to speak.
The opportunity is there for us to establish our Forum as something more than a fansite. We can show our commitment to Greyson's future, and our absolute belief in his talents.
Could this expressed prominently, perhaps as a banner headline on this channel?
What say you, djtiny ?

Orlando Florida House of Blues review...
I arrived early and waited in line for around 2 hours, got to talk to a few Greyson fans (and their parents)
I would estimate the crowd between 200-300 tops. HOB is a small venue and the seated area where I was only had around 30-50 people (more seats not filled then occupied)
I saw Cody Simpson's dad and his sister outside the venue before and after the concert and his dad is the spitting image of Cody (almost looks like Cody will look like when he gets older)
The first act was not bad at all but the second one Carmyn, I really didn't like - she was more hardcore rock pop, with a backup band that appeared to be upstaging her... and she was off key a lot.
BUT when Greyson and Cody came on the crowd went ballistic! Greysonmania is definitely rising and he did not disappoint.
All of his songs were flawless in execution, seasoned and confidently and professionally performed.
On the last tour (Dancing Crazy with Miranda Cosgrove) I said he had become a star, although still relatively unknown fame wise.
This tour with Cody (Waiting 4U) has proven to me he is well on his way to become a SUPER STAR...it may take another year or so but I predict it will happen. And he will have much wider appeal and longer term success than many his age have.
I foresee:
There will be much more elaborate tour productions in the coming years as his popularity and prolific portfolio of songs grows and recognition that Greyson had brought back to life the melodic music and meaningful lyrics of generations past that is lacking in Rock and Pop today...we are seeing the birth of future legend IMHO; we are witnessing in real time, someone who will have a tremendous impact on the music of the 21st century and that April 28th 2010 will be remembered as the "Day The Music" was REBORN.
This from a humble kid from Oklahoma whose sincere smile, positive vibe and God given talent, provide the foundation of creative shift and potential that one can only speculate on today but know exists.
Bottom line, Greyson is a born performer, a talented singer and songwriter and THAT will be his legacy in the years to come.
Of course, I am preaching to the choir here but that is how I feel personally...

I absolutely agree with you duckbiter, I was actually pretty late getting 'on the Greyson wagon', unfortunatly I only first heard of Greyson by clicking the wrong thumbnail of a video back around December. I sure do wish I was around earlier. I had no plans of joining a fan community non the less assisting with the developement of one. I saw W4U a few weeks ago and shortly after became even more obsessed with Greyson and his music. So while reading through some comments of a video on YouTube, there was some questions regarding a song lyric so I posted a reply because I had seen a different word used in a video I had just watched. I saw some comments about a song I hadn't heard of, "Summer Train" ( ), So I messaged the poster of the comment asking for the song. That person was mapender. At first I thought she would think of me annoying for bugging her about the song, but we exchanged a few messages and I soon realized she was a nice person and true fan. After a few days I recieved a mass PM from her about this forum she had started earlier that morning. I was the second or third person to sign up and I quickly got to helping get the board of its feet any way I could, and well, still am since it really hasn't been too long! But anyway, short of telling you my life story, I've seen the other fan sites, read tweets, blogs, etc. and all it is is the same "I LOVE YOU GREYSON" "PLEASE RETWEET ME!!" etc. etc. I was thrilled when I found Meredith and the other, civilized, fans. greysonchancefans, I feel the same way exactly and am thrilled to be watching the making of a future star. I hope I get the chance to get a signed ticket (Or whatever) and then 2, 5, 10 or more years and be able to see that and come here (Hopefully it is still here, the forum and remember being one of the few (comparitvely) first fans.

Thanks. It's interesting to hear the story of your (quite recent) discovery of GC.
Serendipity, I guess, has been behind most members interest in, not to say obsession with, his music. In my case while scanning YouTube's front page, an unusual thumbnail caught my eye. A boy at a piano with an audience of girls. An image probably never videod before or since on YouTube. It was a case of just HAVING TO CLICK it. You know the rest.
Early on, I noticed there was a particular fan who was frequently faster off the mark and more interesting to follow than even the dedicated fan sites. I had been following this guy for many months and had even struck up a virtual friendship of sorts. His name? - mapender! When he / she started the Forum and the truth "came out" I was flabbergasted!
It required a huge psychological adjustment for me to come to terms with this. Like discovering that your FAVE teacher at school is a transexual. Whatever, nice person and true fan she certainly is.
For you to have justifiably acquired admin status already says much about YOUR commitment and energy. Surely I am speaking for all members when I say how fortunate we are to have you and mapender at the helm.

I've noticed in the past that when Greyson plays a wrong note he shows disdain rather than embarrassment. Just carries on regardless. Amazing to witness. He's been gifted with cast iron ego but at the same time no false pride or false modesty.Occasionally in interviews he can come over as too bright and quick, almost as if it was an act. But as one who has seen probably every GC interview posted on YouTube, I guarantee THERE IS NOTHING FAKE ABOUT GREYSON CHANCE. Imo, mapender, you should be proud rather than regretful of that empty space in your ticket collection. On the subject of Forum members attending concerts and meet 'n greets, I think it would be useful to have a badge or some other form of ID displayed on a member. It would ... - make Greyson himself aware of the Forum - similarly raise consciousness of the GCF among his staff and team - be a great talking point for fans waiting endlessly in line (to get more members) - in time might get better access to Greyson and sources of information if it is trusted as serious and supportive. In preference to journalists who may lie or spin a story to make it sensational. Up to now Greyson's press persona has been "YOUNGSTER WOWS THE MUSIC WORLD!". With fame, it changes to "YOUNG SUPERSTAR in drugs/sex/alcohol/you-name-it SCANDAL!" - distinguish mapender from the CREEPY STALKERS! A graphics expert readily to hand (djtiny of course) and a cheap badge making kit from a craft and hobby store would do. Or a snazzy business card in an ID holder. It would make people take the Forum seriously.

Not really a review, but some pics from the L.A. House of Blues show... justjaredjr.buzznet.com/2011/05/13/greyson-chance-house-of-blues-concert-in-los-angeles/I really like this one for some reason Edit: Whoa, didn't realize it would be so big.. oh well. I love that he has such good taste in music (i.e. similar taste in music to me ). I've always been more of a McCartney fan than Lennon (probably only b/c to me Lennon is this mythical figure who lived and died tragically before I was born while I have been able to see Paul live in concert and he is still active in the business), but you can never go wrong w/ the Beatles. I'm kind of interested to know if Greyson is actually into Dylan or if he just wears the shirt b/c it is "cool." Even though I am a big fan of singer/songwriters, only in the last year have I been able to appreciate listening to Dylan for longer than a song or two at a time, but we all know Greyson is 13 going on 30 so I wouldn't be surprised if he is sophisticated enough to get it now.

Oh gosh, where do I begin? First off, the show was absolutely amazing! I've been dragged to many concerts by my parents(not to sound ungrateful or anything) and this one by far was my favorite. I jumped on the Greyson band-wagon a little late. More like super late. When he first posted his Paparazzi video, I remember seeing it on the news and thinking, 'Wow..this kid is talented!' Then I really didn't think about him again until he announced his tour. Sad right? But I didn't seriously become a mega-fan until after Greyson's concert on April 22nd. I originally did not plan to attend the concert basically because my parents said no. And that was a firm 'NO!' Thankfully, one of my Cody-obsessed friends invited me and i couldn't turn her down. This happened three day before the show..so it was kinda a spur of the moment thing. I didn't have time to make t-shirts or signs....unforunately. And no time for VIP tickets and backstage passes..lol. Anyways..we arrived at the show venue(Hampton Ballroom Casino, Hampton NH.) 2-3 hours before the doors opened. At the back of the back of the venue, Cody's and Greyson's tour bus was parked. Of course, we snapped pictures of us in front of the bus and listened to the sound check from outside. Already, there were tons of girls lined up by the door. I was like...how can you people stand out here this long? It was absolutely freezing and it was even colder since we were literally right next to the beach. Um...fast forward three cold hours. The doors opened and like a crazed mob, we all rushed inside. We were close to the front so luckily, we got a good position off to the side of the stage, but literally right at the cage/barrier thingy. Then the opening acts for Cody and Greyson came on. Michael and Marrissa were the first act. They were...okay. I seriously don't know how old they are...but they looked like they were ten. Cameron(idk how to spell her name), who sings the songs for that new Judy Moody movie came out next. In my opion...she was terrible. Almost like a cheap rip off of Miley Cyrus. And then.....my whole night got better. Greyson and Cody both came out, opening the concert. Greyson was absolutely amazing. He is seriously talented. I wish more people would reconise his amazing talents. But then again, I like having Greyson to ourselves, you know? Sounds selfish, but I'm dreading the day that Greyson become Justin Bieber popular with crazy mobs of fans all that fun stuff. Anyways, like I said, Greyson blew me away. His set was; Light Up The Dark/Fire/Empire State of Mine/Paparazzi/Waiting Outside The Lines. Cody was also good...with his dancing and singing. Someone mentioned on here earlier that he occasional got more caught up in dancing than singing. But hey...he's not that bad of dancer. Cody's set...the best I can remember...Round of Applause/iYiYi/All Day/ Don't Cry Your Heart Out...and he sang one more song that I can't remember. Cody also gave us a little sneak peak of On My Mind since the concert was before it was released. And he seranaded a lucky girl. Omg, there's just so much! At the end, Cody and Greson did a mashup of WOTL. Unfortunately, I did not get to meet Greyson or Cody. They didn't do a fan meet-and-greet and I was extremely bummed/dissapointed. At that point, I was totally Greyson obsessed. I ended buying a t-shirt and bracelet. I did take lots of pictures..like 200 pictures. My videos are okay....there was so much screaming it's kinda hard to hear. I'm planning on making a video so I'll post the link when it''s completed. All in all, the concert was fantastic and I can't wait until Greyson comes back to NH...or New England. Btw....how do you post pictures? I'm a newbie.
