^^ I was just about to post that for you, but you beat me to it.
I was surprised about Gaga as well. She really "took the night off" last night. Somebody in some article commented that that was a good thing b/c everybody knew it was going to be Adele's night. I kind of agree with that sentiment.
Going back and rewatching some of the performances from last night. I think there were some really great ones!

I was just happy that Bon Iver won best alternative album and best new artist. I think that Justin Vernon is a genius, and 'Holocene' is my current favourite song. I'm actually pretty shocked that people don't know who he is... And now he's getting hate. But that's how the Grammys work. And that's why I don't watch them.
Although I did enjoy Greyson's Grammy input on twitter (:

For the first time I watched the show from start to finish. I was thinking of Mapender and GU4G when I saw Bruce and Paul. (You are very lucky to be alive during their heyday) Adele was stunning and sang really pretty. Wonder if she and Gaga are having a war going on............ Nikki Minaj's perfromance seemed like a horror movie and weirder than some of Gaga and Katy Perry's live perfromances I've seen in the past. Love Katy's new song. I had no idea she's putting out another album. Did'nt like Chris Brown's perfromance. Jenifer Hudson's Whiteny tribute was AMAZING.

Although I did enjoy Greyson's Grammy input on twitter (: I actually didn't watch The Grammys for years, but now I look at it as my one time of the year that I actually embrace all genres of music and a lot of the Top 40 stuff that I am just not all that interested in. I kind of use it as a way to judge musical acts so that I am not spouting off stuff about them without knowing a little bit about them. For example, I know from watching her appearances at these kinds of things that Lady Gaga can actually sing. So these days I am loathe to say that she isn't talented and actually defend her when people say she is a talentless hack even though her whole shtick is too much for me. I'm glad Bon Iver won as well. "Holocene" is a beautiful song, but I am not sure that it is my favorite on the album. Did you see the SNL performance. It was pretty great. I am disappointed that he/they couldn't work out a performance with the Grammy people. His win this year wasn't nearly as exciting for me as Arcade Fire winning the big prize last year, but it was still pretty great. Also, I think I was one of only 3 people to actually pick him to win Best New Artist, so that helped me in our little Grammy game!

I had no idea she's putting out another album. Did'nt like Chris Brown's perfromance. Jenifer Hudson's Whiteny tribute was AMAZING. I just rewatched that ending Abbey Road medley and it was just complete awesomeness. I know I'm constantly encouraging people to go see Bruce, but please go see Paul first and foremost if you get the chance. I just figure that goes without saying though. He still has it and is no where close to embarrassing himself up there like so many artists end up doing as they get up there in years. Bruce was pretty good as well. He looked and sounded pretty good and for the first time performing that new song (which is just ok) it was decent. Loved seeing him up there at the end with Sir Paul. He was definitely the weak link in the guitar battle, but was so obviously thrilled just to be on stage. Like I said earlier, I am so happy that Adele not only swept all the important categories, but also was well enough to perform. I gotta admit that while "Super Bass" is quite catchy, I don't understand the appeal of Nicki Minaj. She just seems like she is trying to be the rap/R&B version of Lady Gaga and that performance was.... interesting. I also think Jennifer Hudson did great. There really was no question as to which song should be done in tribute, but that takes a lot of nerve to go up there and sing such a difficult song that is so synonymous with Whitney Houston. Overall, I enjoyed the whole evening. I was kept busy tallying the scores of our contest, so I was able to kind of able to tune out all the commercials and parts I was less interested in.

Cool. I mostly just guessed and chose what I wanted vs. what I thought, hahah. Holocene is fantastic. My science teacher showed it to us a few weeks ago, haha, because it's title was "Holocene." Ah, my nerd teacher. xD
