I was discussing this on another thread & decided to start this one so that we can all post songs that we would like to hear Greyson Cover. The songs will probably be meaningless to you unless you imagine what Greyson could do with them and how he would sound singing them. Here is ONE to start things off: Three Dog Night "One" As you listen to this, imagine Greyson at the piano and Greyson's falsetto on those high notes in the chorus. www.youtube.com/watch?v=UiKcd7yPLdU So, what do you guys think? Could Greyson ROCK this song?

I actually can see Greyson adding his own twists to One.
I've always liked that song ever since I first saw Recess : School's Out (Used to love that show..)

One video led to another today when I came across this version of Amazing Grace. Couldn't help but think of Greyson for obvious reasons. If he were ever called upon to sing a hymn, I think this would be a fantastic choice. I can hear the chorus in my mind now.

I'll bet Greyson could do a great Christian Contemporary or Gospel album like Elvis used to do.

I would like Greyson to sing one of 1 Direction song! Any song in particular? I think "Take A Look At Me" sounds like One Direction. I always seem to come across songs that I think "I bet Greyson could really kill that one," but invariably the material is too old for him. However, I was listening to some Beatles last night and was thinking that "The Long and Winding Road" might be a cool one for Greyson to do. It is popular enough that people will know it, but isn't quite as predictable as a "Let It Be" cover*. * Speaking of which, what did you guys think of JB's cover on New Year's. Probably the most impressed I've ever been with him --> www.youtube.com/watch?v=T7SwehyOh3cHere is "The Long and Winding Road" for those that don't know the song.
For no other reason than it is probably my favorite song if I am forced to choose one, I would love to hear him do "Thunder Road." Once again, the lyrics are too "old" for him, but at least it isn't in an inappropriate way. However, a 14 year old singing the poignant line "so your scared and you think that maybe we ain't that young anymore" is kind of ridiculous. Bruce wrote it at 23/24 and that is pretty much the perfect age for it. I'm not counting on it, but Lady Gaga had talked about the importance of "Thunder Road" to her (http://www.mtv.com/videos/news/657641/the-artists-who-influenced-gaga.jhtml#id=1664719), so maybe that makes it slightly more possible. Here are the lyrics: Bruce isn't much of a piano player, but it was originally composed on piano. Here is a relatively recent solo acoustic performance of it.

The song from 1 Direction that i would like him to sing is What Makes You Beautiful and Gotta Be You and More Than This! Cool. To correct myself from above, I was thinking of One REPUBLIC not One Direction. I don't really know anything about them except that they are a boy band from Britain. I do think that "Take A Look At Me Now" sounds like One Republic though.

I think Greyson would sound great singing Homeward Bound by Simon and Garfunkel
or it would be interesting to see what he could do with Blue Eyes by Cary Brothers

I would LOVE to see him cover 'My Immortal' by Evanescence...for all you guys on twitter...do you remember when he tweeted 'Your presence still lingers here and it won't leave me alone'? That was My Immortal...he probably has that song because it has a great melody on the piano...so at least he's heard the song before. I hope he does that one...I've been an Evanescence fan for...I don't know how long...*fingers crossed*

They used it to advertise the series finale of Friends, so it always makes me sad. I'm sure you're too young for that to mean anything to you, but that's the connection I always make when I hear that song I think Greyson would sound great singing Homeward Bound by Simon and Garfunkel Simon and Garfunkel is a good call. I hadn't really thought about their songs. I wish I had a better ear for music, but I just don't. When I think of this stuff, I invariable come up with piano ballads b/c I am just not creative enough to hear things in my head a different way than the way they were originally performed.

I think he'd sound great singing an Adele song like Fire To The Rain. Or maybe a Joan Jett song like I Love Rock 'n Roll.

Okay, here I go again with some cheesy '70's pop. 'Tho Greyson would never cover this song, the "Tell one of your dreams with Greyson" thread made me think of this one. I like it because its keyboard intensive, and I think of what Greyson could do with this song. I just imagine his magic fingers flying across the keyboard during the bridge. For all you young girl Enchancers, the lyrics are really fitting, based on what I've read in some of your posts. So, the lyric clip is to help you relate to the song. You'll have to admit that your feelings about Greyson are very well expressed in this song. www.youtube.com/watch?v=z-B0WCBz2mgNow, for a historical perspective, here is David Cassidy singing the song. David was another very talented young actor and ROCK singer who was trapped in the Hollywood machine of media super sweetened bubblegum pop music when he starred in "The Partridge Family" TV Show. Like The Osmonds before him, he wanted to write and record serious ROCK songs. But the producers forced him to perform bubblegum pop. He became so popular that there were stampedes of screaming girls at his concerts, culminating in the death of one young girl who was crushed against the stage as the crowd pushed forward. Sick of all the turmoil, David, in an effort to get fired posed "nude" on the cover of Rolling Stone Magazine. Finally, in his early twenties David walked away from music for many years. His half brother Shaun Cassidy also had a string of pop hits. Thankfully Greyson seems to have more autonomy in his music so he won't become another teeny bop commodity to be used up by the music machine and then thrown away. www.youtube.com/watch?v=xZrn0UNAA00&feature=fvsr
