It was a nice, sunny afternoon at the Starbucks coffee shop. Customers were coming in and out, ordering their favorite coffee and latés.
It had been 3 years since Greyson Chance and I met. I still have his piano he gave me for my birthday, and that concert of his I went to that same year was an experience of a lifetime. Our relationship has now been opened up to the public, I got a part-time job here at Starbucks, and just last month, Greyson has successfully released his 6th album.
As I was busy pouring coffee for a woman with long black hair, I heard a jingle from the bell above the door, telling me a customer was coming in. It could've been any customer, but somehow I just knew who it was. "Hey babe! How's my gorgeous girl doing today?" Greyson smiled as he came around the other side of the counter, gave me a warm hug, and kissed me gingerly on the cheek. His beautiful brown eyes sparkled like diamonds. I giggled, "I feel wonderful, now that you're here! You seem to be in a really good mood, what's up?"
"Some movie producer just called. They want to make a documentary of my life and fame!" I immediately started freaking out. "OMG, really?! Aww, Greyson I'm so proud of you!!" I hugged him and he picked me up and spun me around. He set me down gently, and came back 'round the counter, and sat down on a stool. I was eager to ask questions. "So is it gonna be kinda like Justin Bieber's Never Say Never that came out a couple years back?"
"Yes, but WAY better!!" He laughed,
"Can I get a... large French Vanilla to go, please?"
"I'm on it!" I walked off and got a large 'to go' paper cup, that had the Starbucks logo on the front, then moved over to the coffee machines. After quickly locating where the French Vanilla was, I placed the cup under the tap and pressed the button. Hot, steaming coffee poured out of the tap and splashed into the cup. I grabbed a lid and pressed it down on the top. I sneakily took a sip, hoping Grey wouldn't notice.
"Hey! What are you doing? That's mine!" Too late.
"I was... just making sure it wasn't too hot for you!" Greyson stared at me with a smile and a raised eyebrow. "Oh, come on! You know it's my favorite, too!" I laughed as I gave the hot beverage to him. "So...when do they start filming?"
"Actually, it starts today. They're gonna do a little filmed interview of me basically telling them how I got famous and what my first reaction was and stuff." He glanced at his watch, "According to my watch, I have to be there in an hour. So I should probably leave now, since it takes about 45 minutes to get there, so..." Greyson stood up, kissed me sweetly on the lips, grabbed his coffee, said "See-ya honey!" and started for the door. "Wait!" I called. Greyson turned to look at me. "Yes, sweetie?"
"Um...aren't you gonna pay for the coffee?"
"What? You expect me, Greyson Chance, to PAY for a cup of coffee?! I've released 6 albums, have a movie coming out, and millions of adoring fans, and you expect me to pay?! I'm Greyson Chance and I get my coffee for free!" He stomped off toward the the door, but looked over his shoulder and saw the shocked look on my face from his big rant, and felt the jig was up. "JUST KITTEN!! I'll always pay, even if I'm Greyson Chance!" He walked back up to the counter and slipped out a five from his wallet. "Got you, didn't I?" He winked as he handed me the bill. Then he turned and walked out the door. I shook my head and smiled, asking myself, "How did I get so lucky to have him as a boyfriend?"
