The new generation is arriving with extreme kids that are very talented that can do many things that people didn’t think was possible; for example, Greyson Chance.
This new teen heartthrob is 14-years-old and is ready for the famous life. In April of 2010 Chance’s brother posted a video of him singing one of Lady Gaga’s songs, “Paparazzi” on the world wide internet website, You tube. His video has received four million views. This video not only caught the eye of people all over the world, but also caught the eye of the one and only, Ellen Degeneres. When she saw this video she knew right then and there that Chance was no ordinary teenager, he was a teenager with soul. He has now appeared on her show eight times and debuted his singles, “Waiting Outside the Lines” and “Unfriend You.”
Teenagers feel affection for love songs that they can relate to. For instance one of Chance’s songs on his new album, “Waiting Outside the Lines” is a perfect song that many people can relate to. This song is saying that the person you love will always wait for you, even if they have to go out of their way. It represents a girl who doesn’t like to take chances, and doesn’t want to get her heart broken, when the boy is explaining to her that taking chances is worth it. She shouldn’t look down on tomorrow and think more positive or what could be something great.
Another song, “Unfriend You” can say a lot about itself. What Chance is explaining in this song is that you can fall for a person who you think is the nicest human being in the world, when in reality he or she unfortunately turns out to be the person you thought they weren’t. One of the lyrics in his song says, “You’re the best liar ever knew, so I’ll unfriend you, cause I should have known right from the start I’m deleting you right from my heart.”
Chance has a lot of things going for him. Whether it is a television show or the radio is a very talented young boy that will continue to shine. He has the confidence and others have it in him too. Chance has the ability to succeed.
