I pulled into the Whitespot parking lot the second it turned 6:00pm. I was wearing a pretty pink skirt and a yellow tank top with a cute jean jacket. I never dressed really fancy unless I was Greyson's date at an awards show or on the red carpet with him.
I stepped out of my car, slammed the door and locked it. I walked around the corner towards the entrance of the restaurant and found Greyson standing by the door. He was wearing black skinny jeans, a rock n' roll t-shirt and a black leather jacket. I also noticed he was wearing his Converse shoes and his favorite bullet necklace. This was how he usually dressed, but for some reason, he looked much more handsome than usual. "You look beautiful tonight." He commented. I blushed, "Really? Hehe thanks! You look really nice too." Greyson opened the door to the Whitespot and gestured his hand to the inside, saying "After you, my lady."
I stepped inside with Greyson following close behind me. A pretty waitress came and directed us to our table. We both sat down and she handed us each a menu. Then she asked us "Would you two like any drinks to start?"
We both looked at our menus for a moment.
"Iced tea, please." Startled by fact that we said the exact same thing at same time, we both looked at each other and smiled.
"Ok, then. I'll be back in a moment." The waitress walked away. I decided to start up a conversation while we waited for our drinks. "I heard you on the radio while coming home from work this afternoon."
"Yep, I had a small radio interview after the filming session."
"Oh, ok. Do you know what the movie's called now?"
"Uh-huh, it's called Dreams Come True."
"Cool, that's a nice title!"
"Yeah, I know. Apparently it's also gonna be the name of my new single."
"Awesome!" I was really getting excited for Greyson. I mean, this was big!
Just then, I saw the waitress walking back to our table carrying two glasses of iced tea. She set them both down in front of us and said, "There you go. Have you decided on your order yet?"
"Not yet." Grey said, while shaking his head.
"I'll give you a couple more minutes to decide then, ok?" She smiled and headed over to another table.
I picked up my menu and started looking through it. Peaking over the top of my menu, I saw Greyson doing the same. "A lot to choose from, isn't there?" He said.
"I know, they all look so good!"
"Except for that. That looks gross!" He pointed to something on the menu.
"Shhh Greyson, we're in a restaurant!" I looked where he was pointing. "Awe yeah, that does look gross! Yuck, what is that?!" We both started laughing. I returned to my menu. "I think I'll have the turkey dinner."
"Ooh, that looks yummy! I think I'll have that, too."
I looked up at Greyson. "You're not copying me because you can't think of what to order, are you?"
"No! I seriously think I want that. I haven't had turkey since Easter with my family back in Oklahoma!"
"Haha, sure..." But we both knew we were only joking around.
A moment later, the waitress came back. "Decided on your order yet?"
"Yes. Two turkey dinners, please?" Greyson said. The waitress had pulled out a little yellow notebook from the pocket in her apron and started jotting out our order. "Gravy on or on the side?"
"On, please." I said.
"Ok, so two turkey dinners with gravy on top?" I nodded. "Ok, thank-you. I will be back later with your order." She left again.
I looked at Greyson and saw a very silly smile pasted on his face.
"What?"
"Oh, nothing. I was just remembering the day we first met."
"Oh, yeah! That was a day I'll never forget. What were you doing, anyway? Kissing me in the first hour of meeting?"
Greyson sighed, a long dreamy sigh. "From the moment I looked into those beautiful blue eyes, I knew I was going to love you for a long time. I just couldn't resist, I had to kiss you."
About 10 or 15 minutes later, the waitress came over with our dinner. We ate in silence, listening to the music playing in the background, and occasionally taking breaks between mouthfuls of food to sip our iced tea. Soon our stomachs were
full and happy.
While we were waiting for our bill, we started staring at each other. Greyson, not taking his eyes off me, shoved our plates out of the way and leaned forward over the table. Dazed, and slightly tired, I did the same. My lips almost closed around his, when I noticed somebody with a camera on the other side of the room. "Oh, great. The paparazzi are here."
"Just ignore them." Greyson placed two fingers on the side of my chin, and gently moved my head back to face him. Then we kissed each other passionately. My heart was racing; like it always does when we kiss. My mind flashed back to that first kiss, in my bedroom on my birthday. We were only 13 then. Greyson was so small, hard to believe how much he'd grown since then.
We awkwardly pulled away when we noticed the waitress was back with our bill. After having a short disagreement on who would pay, Greyson handed the set amount to the waitress, and we got up to leave.
"Thanks for taking me out tonight, Greyson. That was fun." I said once Greyson and I were outside.
"Ah, don't mention it. So, I guess I'll see you tomorrow then. Goodnight!"
"Ok. Goodnight!" I walked over to my car and opened the door.
"And, Jesse?" I looked up. "Yeah?"
"I love you."
"I love you, too." I settled in to my car, started it up, and made my way home, replaying the amazing day in my head.
