Lip Synching isn't so bad. It's all we had back in the sixties.

Yeah, when your a guest on these TV shows, you don't really have much of a chance. At least we know he actually can sing

Lip Synching isn't so bad. It's all we had back in the sixties. Oooo, I have to disagree with you on that one. Not for something like this or a music video, but in general I have 0 respect for anybody that gets on stage and lip-syncs. Guess I am kind of a music snob in that regard.

Yeah, music videos are going to be lip syncing, or not even singing at all but that's fine. Same goes for actual tv shows etc. But why would I pay/wait/travel to hear what I can play on my iPod?

Greyson did not lip sync WOTL when he taped the So Random show. I believe he is the only artist ever to not lip sync this show.

Thanks blackandwhite. That fastenating. Now i'm really excited to see Greyson next week. I thinjk Greyson is one of the few singers under 18 that can sing live. That also includes Cody and Camryn. I do'nt understand why Cody lip-synced. Probaly because of his dancing.

Who knows, probably just easier for the crew. Cody is actually pretty good live though. Although I went to W4U for Greyson, Cody impressed me a lot.

Yeah. I particularly like his dancing.
Why doesn't Greyson get taught dancing? Remember his jersey shore dance move?

If he wants to learn to dance, then that's cool, but please not on stage. Every dime a dozen pop star dances and they have to lip-sync or sing over a heavily used backing track to cover their singing b/c nobody can dance like that and continue to sing properly. Plus, how many artists (musicians) dance and are taken seriously? James Brown, MJ, Prince, maybe a few others.

Greyson said in a reccent interview that he does not like dancing and if he trys he would be breaking bones. Cody has been taking dance classes for years. That's why Cody is such a good dancer.

Let's keep sex out of this, though. You and I agree that we love Greyson's solo acoustic performances above all. If he has to go down the road of big stage performances, for the $ I suppose, then let him (for F***'s sake) dance, prance, goof off, whatevar is necessary. When his parents feel sufficiently financially secure, he may be allowed to do what he does best. Wake me up when this happens. duckbiter

We do agree on that point, but I don't really think he has the chops to play acoustically exclusively yet.
I know you like to start stuff, but I don't think that is a fair comment about his parents. Just b/c he isn't taking the route we might want doesn't mean he is being pressured into doing something he doesn't want to do just for financial gain. If you look at the artists he talks about admiring they are mostly artists and bands that toe the line of catering to mainstream mass appeal and being "serious" artists (Well, except for Kiss). I think aiming for both is completely feasible. Although perhaps much more difficult to achieve these days than in past decades.
I prefer his acoustic performances, but I think he does a good job fronting the band as well. It isn't like dancing is the worst thing ever, but I tend to think it distracts from the music and message when everybody is so focused on the person's "cool dance moves."
Glad to hear Greyson didn't lip sync b/c that means I am more excited to see the show. I find it interesting that he is the only one that decided not to. I would think that most people realize that performers look ridiculous when they lip sync in situations like this where the camera is really close up. It is so obvious most of the time and so people watching only focus on how bad they are at miming along. I guess the whole purpose is to increase exposure, though, so that is accomplished no matter what.

OK, fair enough about his parents. BUT somebody's got to get a grip on his life. His future, and you and I know this, is going to be as a solo singer /pianist. And a composer.
Fronting a band, touring etc is great fun for a 13 yr old. I see it simply as a diversion, a waste of time.
F***! Cut to the Chase, Meredith!
Tuition - piano, singing and dancing; as well as Science, Biology, History, Geography, Multicultural studies or whatever it's called now are a MUST! NOW'S the time to do it.
HE'S 13!
