Woohoo! That must mean that new music isn't far off at all, maybe we'll get the album in June/July-ish, at a similar time to when HOTTN was released?

Yeah because they'd probably want to give HOTTN about a year, so a summer release sounds possible!

Here’s a clip of the chat with a little better audio. Besides revealing that the music for the new album is done and just has to be remixed, he mentions that he will do Running Away live (first time). He also drops a hint regarding the 2 cover songs he will sing -- “Sometimes I just gotta put on my pumped-up shoes.” www.youtube.com/watch?v=x3fuj4pNoTI

That's great! I really didn't think that he'd be releasing something until early next year at the earliest, but I am certainly not complaining.
I don't think that he has ever played "Running Away" live, but it is definitely one I am eagerly looking forward to hearing.
I haven't gotten a chance to watch the videos yet, but you've got to assume that he is referencing Foster the People's "Pumped Up Kicks". Maybe I am wrong, but that seems like what the clue would point to. I'd definitely be interested to hear his take on it if that is the song he is talking about. Of course, I'm not sure how a song about a kid going on a killing spree will go over, but I think it is cool he isn't shying away from a controversial topic (if that is the song he is talking about).

I sort of felt that the "pumped-up shoe" line was a reference to Gaga. I had to check out "Pumped Up Kicks" though. I can't say that I really got into the song -- especially the autotuning on the studio version. I think the acoustic version is so much better. I can't believe how many acoustic versions of songs I've listened to in the last couple of weeks and asked myself why they chose to ruin a song by "letting a computer sing it" on the studio version."
Here's an acoustic version of "Pumped Up Kicks" for comparison. Mapender, you keep expanding my musical horizons! EDIT: Happened to catch your twitter exchange with HM. Sounds like you guessed right. Really curious now about the arrangement. Sure hope we get to see/hear it on Youtube!

It appears to me that they are saying the album will be "x-traordinary" not that that is the name of his new album...
