So, there's been a new band on the rise. They're called One Direction. I'm sure you guys have heard of them, and we're losing some enchancers to 1D. I personally LOVE 1D, but I'm not gonna leave Greyson. That would be dumb. what do you guys think of the new British (and Niall's Irish) boyband? (:

I've only heard one One Direction song (haha), but they sound pretty good. I like them, but Greyson's still my favorite musician ever.

Yeah, I don't know much about them, but it looks like this generation of teenagers is into the boy bands like my generation was. There really haven't been any prominent ones that I can think of since the late 1990s and early 2000s with the Backstreet Boys, NSYNC, 98 Degrees, etc. Seems like they are making a comeback right now though. Of course, the standard boy band formula goes back decades and One Direction, Big Time Rush and all of those are just the lucky ones cashing in at the moment. I do think it is ridiculous how some fans think that they can only be devoted to one band/artist and have to choose and then there is all this rivalry between fans and whatnot. Kind of funny to me. Greyson has his fair share of fans for sure, but if he wants the whole teen idol status with the hoards of girls everywhere he goes, he is just going to have to wait. For the most part, you aren't going to have 15, 16, 17 year old girls "falling in love" with a 14 year old. I know at that age those one or two years makes a huge difference and Greyson only being 14 just keeps a lot of people from taking him seriously. The kid has so much talent though, he'll have a long and lucrative career in music if that is what he wants. As for One Direction, I appreciate that they are at least somewhat talented compared to what I've seen from a couple of the other boy bands. I went through my phase though, so I think I'll just stick with the Backstreet Boys and NSYNC.

Like Jimmy Osmond before him (about 99% of the forum members are asking "who?" , Greyson has hoards of girls following him all over Asia. But when he comes back to the States, he has some measure of peace. As Greyson gets older, he WILL become more popular here and, IMHO, he WILL be the next Paul McCartney. I've already seen his popularity growing in South America, especially in Argentina, partly due to the contests we are sponsoring there, but mostly due to the fine work of the GCA board. As Greyson grows, both chronologically and artistically, his fame is certain to grow as well.

I personally think these boy bands are a pathetic attempt at boy bands--I've known NSYNC and Backstreet Boys and all that, so I'm kind of attached to them. Big Time Rush, to me, is a wanna be band. These One Direction people aren't bad, but I'm with you, mapender. I'm sticking with Backstreet Boys and NSYNC.

Love 1D! Liked them since they were on The X Factor at the end of 2010. More Than This is their best song.
