Dire Straits? "Money for Nothing" is a pretty good album to introduce you to their songs, though it's only got the 12 minute live version of Telegraph Road rather than the full 14 minute 23 second studio version that's on the "Love Over Gold" album (the first CD I ever bought, back in 1985). For some of Mark Knopfler's later music try the album "Sailing to Philadelphia".

To Mapender, Aren't the Avett Brothers great? I've seen them live, too, at The Life is Good Festival, but my mom made me leave before their set ended. They are actually in my top 3 live shows, behind Ingrid Michaelson and Mumford and Sons. Well, I'm 13, so i've actually only ever seen 5 acts live (Greyson and Van Morrison being the others), so i shouldn't be talking like a know-it-all Anyways 'Slight Figure of Speech' is from 'I and Love and You'. I also highly recommend their album 'Emotionalism'. As for Jack White, I love 'White Blood Cells', but 'Consolers of the Lonely' from his other band, 'The Raconteurs' is amazing.

As arwelp said, Money for Nothing is a pretty good album to get to know their music. I would personally also suggest Alchemy.
I'm not going to Pinkpop. Actually not a big fan of those big festivals like Pinkpop, Lowlands or Rock Werchter. It's just too crowded for me. So no Bruce. The Cure will also perform. Unconfirmed rumours say Neil Young will also be there. Pretty good line up expected anyway, like always.
