Sad news for us older fans. I saw on the 4:00 pm newscast that pop singer Davey Jones, from the sixties pop group "The Monkees" had passed away from a massive heart attack. A sad reminder that we are all getting older, and the clock is ticking.
Davey was the "cute Monkee" and was featured in all the teen mags as Greyson is now. Sometimes known as "The Pre-Fab Four", the Monkees were created for a TV show as a take-off on the "Hard Day's Night" era Beatles. Since they were initially a media creation, hence the term Pre-Fab, as in Prefabricated, The Monkees did not get proper credit for their music, even though they did play their own instruments and eventually were allowed to write their own songs. Regardless of the controversy, the Monkees were extremely popular for over 40 years, with crowds of screaming fans following them around. Visualize Greyson in Asia and you can imagine how it was for the Monkees. Rest In Peace Davey.

This is a clip of The Monkees live so you can see how it was then and compare them with Greyson Today. Unfortunatly, the technology didn't exist for earbuds or "P.A. Monitors" so they could not hear themselves onstage. Also, the producers weren't going to allow full songs on TV for free (They wanted you to go to the show) so you don't get the best here, But a good segment with Davey starts ay 6:25. After the song, he talks about things that Greyson can relate to- Losing track of time and not knowing where you are.
Davey: "I got up at 11:00 this morning and Iplayed with a swan for an hour".
Interviewer: "Why'd you do that?"
Davey: "I don't know, it looked lonely." ;D

Wish Greyson would cover this song. R.I.P. Davey. You will be missed.
